Company A is founded, allegedly to 'solve the solar energy problem'.
Company B is a well established, shady company, and they sell 'parts and supplies' to Company A.
Company A's accountants don't notice the decimal point is in the wrong place for parts they buy by the thousands, or millions.

Someone in Company A says, OOPS, we're out of money, and goes to the finance deptartment. The response from Finance? Don't worry about it. We'll work it out with Company B's billing. A credit is issued back, and SHAZAM, the shady money company B had is now clean. Only trouble is that somewhere in the transfers of monies, huge strings of zeroes are missing, but no one in A or B says a word. The only person getting screwed is the taxpayer... well maybe.

They all love to blame each other, the banks, Wall Street, real estate speculators. Here, in my opinion, is what really happened... and it took a long time.

Unions in all industries made demands, some of which were met, for more pay, benefits, etc. As the cost of labor increased, companies were forced to reduce costs wherever possible. Along with union cohorts, workers such as myself, who can troubleshoot issues remotely, received increases in pay, and benefits.

In the midst of all the pressure on business to reduce costs, along comes the above mentioned 536 elected officials, some of whom decided it was a good idea to demand that companies pay workers health insurance, and the rest of the politicians made their arguments too 'Business vs Working person' to have anyone listen. And through it all, the companies who hire figured out that if they used trans-oceanic cable, and satellite, they could hire cheaper workers in places like India, Mexico and elsewhere, to do the technical support, throwing millions of highly trained ENGLISH speakers out of work.

My wife and I are both working, but at about 50% of the wages were making three years ago . The American Dream politicians love to taut? It doesn't make sense for us to try and keep the house: Any equity we had is gone, and the 'tax benefit' doesn't mean much in terms of standard deduction vs itemizing. Thanks guys. Can we get adults back in D.C. now?

If you have read some of the much earlier posts in this blog, I created this blog because the largest contribution to 'global warming' comes from the hot air expelled from politicians, mostly on the left.

Al Gore won a Nobel PEACE (not science) prize for turning an obscure science journal article into a battle cry from governments who want to take wealth from anywhere they find it. This is what 'Liberals' do: they determine some form of human activity, however beneficial to society as a whole, or to a particular sub-set, is a Baaad thing, and create a tax to offset the damage. They had hoped Global Warming to be the Utopian promise: if we all huddle together in the cold, and the dark, and accept what the government gives back from what they take in the first place, well, we will all survive. Sounds peachy, doesn't it? As their economic models have shown, and now their atmospheric models, their goal for humanity is based on nothing but a grand scheme to control our lives.

Higher taxes means job loss, you morons!

Having lost two, possibly three jobs to India, I am living proof of harm to the middle class, by raising taxes on 'the rich'. I used to look at 'off-shoring' as a way for high tech industries to shed payroll costs in terms of hourly wage. But there is more to off-shoring than the job loss of line techs to India and elsewhere.

By raising taxes on 'the rich', money is pouring out of US firms, to overseas affiliates, where the profits from enterprise there is taxed less. Add to that the costs of benefits, and taxes employers must pay, it makes sense for business people to off-shore as much activity as they possibly can.

So where shall we put the blame for job loss? Squarely on the shoulders of the President and his gang of 'liberal' stooges, who want all they goodies for their constituents, and expect 'the rich' to pay for it all.

Employers pay taxes too! In addition to the FICA taxes we must pay as employees, your employer must pay an equal amount. Seems Obama is looking bad these days, and 'democrats' in Congress are worried for their jobs. This is a good thing. The Left's programs aren't working, and the real lefties feel Obama hasn't gone far enough in his government 'management' of the economy. Yikes... they have done such a fine job so far, adding a whopping 18K jobs, and unemployment still above nine percent, you would think that the left might back away from its clamor, 'raise taxes on the wealthy'.

Face it boys, a free market works wonders. Stop piling on costs of hiring, stop threatening higher taxes on the people who can create jobs, and maybe even come up with incentives, like 'job creation credit' to offset higher taxes on 'the rich'.

I started with the Time cover article; which makes the statement 'Does the Constitution still matter?' (the very idea of which makes steam spurt from my ears - How can you ask such a thing?) if you're a liberal, of course, the Constitution is a very old, now barely legible document, so they can make it say whatever they want.

It's bad enough that at my grade school, there was a monument in the center of the cul-de-sac, commemorating soldiers from my town who had died in WWI. I thought I'd remind her what the 1st amendment says:

I just made some quick calculations, looking at our taxes from the years 2008 - 2010. Our combined income dropped 44% from 2008. Now the Left is out there, still touting their wonderful programs to increase the size of government and redistribute the wealth. And what has happened to that lost income? Most of it has gone to India, where two of my previous jobs went. I suppose I could buy biohazard suits, move to Bangalore, and get one of my old jobs back.

Oh sure, our taxes declined over the same period, so much so that hanging on the house doesn't mean lowering our taxes all that much. It wasn't that long ago that a previous 'democrat' occupying the White House had his butt hauled before a Grand Jury. Again and again he denied a relationship with a woman in the hallowed halls of the White House. Demoncrats circled around him shouting 'who cares?' I certainly wouldn't. That is not the point.

Politicians will do anything, say anything, to get elected. The birth certificate, apparently, will not go away, nor should it, until we can get someone to stand up in open court and say, yes, that is the original, or 'no, i helped manufacture it.'

The aforementioned President, you'll remember, later admitted, that yes he lied. That was about his personal life, and should not have been an issue for the Grand Jury. The birth certificate, however, is about eligibility under our Constitution, to even hold the office of President. This is NOT a 'move along, nothing to see here' issue. What is the President doing while our attention is diverted?

The Left was up in arms about the passage of the Patriot Act after 9/11. Now they are in power, and what the Left feared most about the Patriot Act could still come true. The Leftist government we have now can go to a secret court, and get a Chicago-style wink and a nod from a secret court, and examine your library, bank, and Internet records. If GB was still in the White House, and the Left not in charge of the Senate, I would be less unsettled.

Given the Left has the power though, what I say here may be protected speech, but they may view me as a threat, simply because I want them, just as I would with a different government, to uphold the Constitution.
